The parenting content is also taught to adults themselves. Lessons do not include direct instruction for children.

02 THE APPROACH

The goal is to help you do it yourself.

Each lesson starts with a conversation: what would be useful for you to be able to do?

  1. Start with your goal

    We begin with a real task from your work or everyday life. The content and pace adapt to your goals and experience.

  2. Try it together

    Learn how to give AI clear instructions, check its results, and adjust when something doesn’t work. Diagrams and concrete examples make complex ideas easier to understand.

  3. Make it your own

    Why choose this approach? What can you hand over to AI, and where do you need your own judgment? We work through each step until it makes sense.

The aim is for you to keep experimenting and applying what you learn after the lesson.

Meet your instructor

David Jiang

Software engineer & founder of Theory A

I earned my master’s degree in Computer Science at Cornell University. At Apple, I developed internal tools supporting Siri’s machine learning. At Google’s Wing, I worked on software for drone operations.

Now based in Shanghai, I’m building Theory A, an investment research platform that makes complex financial information easier to understand visually. I also create interactive tools for exploring how AI handles language and how neural networks learn.

Why I teach

Making complex things understandable.

That thread runs through my work. Alongside building tools, I want to be part of the moment when someone says “I get it” and starts using those ideas on their own. That’s why I offer these lessons.

I continue to develop my own products, bringing that hands-on experience to the things that matter in your work and everyday life.

04 THE DETAILS

Location & languages

Somewhere familiar. At your pace.

In-person lessons
We can meet in a public place such as a café, or I can visit your home or office. We’ll agree on a location together.
Near Zhongshan Park
I live at 888 Changning Road and give priority to people who can take lessons around Zhongshan Park.
English & Mandarin
I speak native English and near-native Mandarin. Working on real tasks can also be an opportunity to practice using English.

Lessons and inquiries are in English or Mandarin Chinese. Japanese-language support is not available.
